Derek Hamman serves as the Operations Manager overseeing the Integrated Manufacturing (IM) Pre-Fabrication division at Cummings Electrical, where he leads strategic operational development and the advancement of prefabrication as a scalable delivery model within large-scale commercial construction. His leadership focuses on aligning manufacturing strategy with enterprise objectives, driving organizational growth, operational standardization, and the integration of manufacturing principles into modern electrical project execution.
With responsibility spanning production strategy, financial performance, quality systems, supply chain alignment, and workforce development, Derek guides the evolution of prefabrication operations toward greater efficiency, predictability, and scalability. He oversees complex multi-project manufacturing environments, balancing resource planning, capacity optimization, and performance metrics across Large Construction, Service, and Integrated Manufacturing initiatives. His approach emphasizes Lean manufacturing methodologies, data-driven leadership, and the implementation of emerging technologies that enhance visibility, throughput, and long-term operational resilience.
Beyond daily operational leadership, Derek plays a key role in shaping the strategic growth and expansion of Cummings Electrical’s prefabrication capabilities. He collaborates closely with executive leadership, VDC, engineering, procurement, and field operations to develop integrated systems that bridge design, manufacturing, and installation workflows. His work centers on building repeatable processes, driving innovation, and establishing prefabrication as a core competitive advantage that supports safer, faster, and more predictable project delivery.
Derek is passionate about advancing the future of electrical prefabrication through collaboration, innovation, and operational excellence. Outside of work, he is married with two young children and enjoys competitive shooting in both PRS and IDPA, as well as training and competing in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.
